How exactly does changing font size work? Is it compatible with all three font options or only certain ones? I can't seem to get it to work.

You've just excavated a spirit from the depths of a dungeon, where it lay crystallized for who knows how long. You've gone to great lengths to restore it and to imbue it into one of your most trusty, familiar wands. It can be present in the world and experience things again, in some capacity. The spirit should be grateful! ...Or maybe it's torture, depending on the user.

But it would make sense that a magical being, inhabiting the same wand that your own Mana is coursing through, should be able to manipulate that Mana in some capacity. I mean when I put you on my hip, Spirit, you can't grab onto some of it or push it back to me? It all flies away! And it's not like you're eating it either, I still gotta feed you...

(It's pretty expensive to maintain and develop a spirit weapon. And other types of spirits don't penalize you for letting go of them. I feel like someone who's invested the enormous amount of time and money into a spirit wand should enjoy the benefit of hanging on to some of their mana when they switch weapons or unequip. Perhaps you shouldn't have 0% evaporation from the start, since the spirit has to grow in strength and get accustomed to its new owner over time... but something like 2-3% reduction per Social level would be in the ballpark I'm thinking of. What do you think?)

Truth. Unlimited skill resets pre-100 allows for a very interesting period to take advantage of whatever initial AP you can farm. You don't have to retrain any rank you already attained, so you can isolate skills and get the training out of the way, even if it's something you plan on picking up hundreds of AP down the line. And of course you can work on life skills like Refining right off the bat, except once you get to a new rank you can reset and go do something else. It's hecc of nice.

Excellent guide, I'd like to add that Crow enchant can be obtained on a fluted short sword from Barri Basic end chest.

Shouldn't throwing yourself at a situation in a bad way not be reward? I honestly feel like a good player will feel more enjoyment from a tough fight if they didn't just win it through "zerging with naos".

I feel like you're contradicting yourself here. Throwing yourself at a situation you're not equipped to handle isn't rewarded, it just isn't punished as harshly as it used to be on live. If you're truly out of your element, you're not going to be any better off with 5 naos because you're just going to waste them and die again anyway. And a "good player" will not need to win a tough fight by "zerging with naos", they'll win the fight normally.

I'm no expert, but I'm decent, and most of my Naos have been spent on silly stuff. Like a mob hitting me due to displacement lag in the middle of my combo. Or failing to assault slash a rat when it goes into deadly, when I'm deadly myself. The one time I knowingly did something way out of my league (3 man shadow wiz) I blew all the rest of my holy water in addition to all my naos

Being good rewards a skillful and prepared player, they're gonna be burning through less water, all the while keeping dura up and more than likely never dropping a weapon. Also I feel the time consumption to get holy water is one of the more fair things in game, especially since we have the barri variant which makes it even faster.

I remember being a new player back in the day, learning the ins and outs of combat, and being afraid to get too far from a church without stacks and stacks of holy water. In fact, because the demand for holy water was so high, selling it was how I initially made enough money to do things like upgrade a pair of swords and buy a kite shield. But I think grinding church jobs to adv is a lot to ask of a new player, doubly so if they're new to Mabi altogether. I think the advantages of having Nao revives make mabi a little more accessible to new players, and I think that's a fair tradeoff in a place with a smaller community.

I'd learn to deal with reduced or removed trans hunger restoration IFF eating food while hungry didn't have negative effects on your character's appearance. It would be a bigger hassle to avoid being a chonker all the time than it would be to get food to eat.

The domain has just changed back to mabi.pro after an extended downtime. The staff are working on a new installer/launcher that should be ready in the next couple of days. In the meantime, there is a manual method to launch the game and you can find more information on Discord.

What rewards are you talking about? AP rewards for mainstream quests weren't implemented until long after this version.

Shine is recruiting!
A guild so good, it's been featured in other guild recruitment posts.

Whether you're completely new to Mabi, have only played more current versions, or just want the old-school nostalgia, Shine is here for you. We're focused on teaching new players Mabi's depth and helping you achieve your goals. Whether you want to play casually or are looking for an MMO to sink long hours into, we'll give you a warm welcome. As one of the largest active guilds on the server, we're hoping our enthusiasm can be contagious and help usher in a new wave of players to this wonderful game.

We offer:
• Knowledgeable players who can give advice on G13 Mabi and MabiPro's custom content;
• Mainstream quest assistance including All G2 Ideals;
• A compilation of guides to base and custom content, some written by our own members
• …and more!

We have diverse membership, spanning all difficulty brackets and time zones.

There are no requirements to join, other than a desire to have fun, but we do require Discord membership; you don't have to participate in chat there, but we'd like to make sure event announcements and other news are accessible outside of game.

If you're interested in joining us, or you have questions about the guild, more details are available on our Discord.

I realize this thread is ancient by now, but to anyone who has come across it wondering about magic skills like me, please note that the cast time is NOT part of the duration. You get a full 30 seconds of channeling starting from the moment the 6.5 second load time completes.

Shine has built a castle, and we're making housing more accessible.

We are listing houses (almost) every day so you don't have to wait a week anymore to have the convenience of a house.

For more information, or to place a bid, visit our Discord where we have a guide to Housing written up.

First off, welcome back!

Second... that's wayyy too much stuff to summarize in a reply!

I recommend skimming through the announcements forum to get a taste of what's been added from patch notes.

Taming is not a useful skill. It has maybe one or two uses. It also doesn't give any stats whatsoever, so unless you want to do G8, feel free to skip it altogether.

I don't understand your complaint about Dyfnfor making Barri obsolete. Barri was already obsolete for the purpose of gathering anything other than iron. To the point where people are strongly encouraged to do Metallurgy if they are trying to rank refine.

Dyfnfor provides an extra source of primarily silver and gold, alongside gems (if/when cracked geodes work as intended?) which makes it a viable alternative to metallurgy at the pain points of refine where most people run low on one or the other depending on where and how they're metallurging. And yes it makes ore crates a possibility but I'd caution that the mobs in the dungeon (and especially the Trench) are a bit tougher than what you'd encounter in Barri. For people who are already done with Refine and actually want materials for blacksmithing, the crates provide a slight incentive to go through Barri with a speed pickaxe over just alchemizing unknown ores into iron.

It is, and always has been, a false positive, because Nexon used Themida to pack the client. Maybe Defender is making more of a stink about it than before, but this has always been the case.

I've only been around for a few months, so I'm not qualified to give you a summary either. Not sure why you don't think the big stuff will be mentioned in announcements too.
