So, I downloaded 214 and it's just sitting there doing nothing checking for updates. It's been doing this FOREVERRRR. What didn't I download? I saw on another post that you don't need the launcher, but then why is it there on the downloads page?? What the hell am I supposed to do? I know my computer isn't this slow, so what did I do wrong?
*UPDATE: Spoke to a vanilla Mabi friend and he's had the exact same issue being totally confused. Can we get some clear explanations please?

me and friends had the same problem, downloading and running it through the dev patcher is what fixed it and finally allowed the game to patch - might work for you, might not. good luck!

There's literally no information on how to do anything on this site and it's quite frustrating.
*Nevermind, Norton said there's a virus on that file. Screw it, I'll just quit Mabi altogether. I can't play this and vanilla is so dead it looks like RuneScape now. Someone needs to either make a post that gives a clear explanation or they need to fix their downloads. Mabipro is a cute idea, but it doesn't mean anything if no one can play it.

Posts: 2147The file downloads work fine. There's hundreds of players who have had no issues whatsoever so I wouldn't say "no one can play it"
The installer is a self-extracting zip file, if you can't use the installer - use 7Zip or WinRAR to extract it.
214 is shipped with the launcher, but older versions did not used to be, so that's why you can download the launcher stand alone on the Downloads page.
If you've installed 214, you simply have to run the launcher and it will attempt to patch the game.
The launcher is quite unstable on lower end computers, so you may experience problems where it will stall completely and sit there doing nothing. Waiting longer will just waste your time, just close it and try it again. Repeat that until it works if you want. It shouldn't stall every time but if it's stalled once, it's got a high chance to stall again.
If you can't manage to get it to patch to 221 (latest version), just manually patch it - you can read our tutorial on how to do that here.
If you decide to manually patch the game, you will forever be unable to use the primary launcher again, so you will have to keep doing it every time the game gets updated.
To launch the game, you should use the alternative patcher instead.
If you try to login and get "Server could not be reached" - you failed to properly patch the game.
