Heya. I used to play Mabi years ago on an old PC running Windows XP and was hoping to let a friend use it to play along.

It's giving a "not a valid Win32 application" error when trying to start the launcher, so I'm just trying to figure out if that's from OS incompatibility or some other reason. I haven't come across any system requirements listed for the launcher. Thanks for any help!

You are most likely getting this because you do not have .NET 2.0 Framework or higher redistributable files. The launcher was coded in C# (CLI Language), so the framework is required to launch the launcher

Please report back after installing the .NET Framework redistributable files, this includes 2.0, 3.0, and possibly 4.0

The launcher requires .NET 4.0. If you see this error, you most certainly do not have .NET 4.0 installed.

This is what I installed. It says redistributable but is the wrong version?

Oh, I see the problem.

Actually, the launcher is built against .NET 4.5 (which you don't have) not .NET 4.0.
This is unfortunate because .NET 4.5 cannot be ran on Windows XP.

We're unable to build it against anything lower than 4.5 due to underlying code requirements for libraries that only exist in 4.5 and above.

Ah, well that is unfortunate indeed. But thanks so much for clearing it up!

Yeah, however if we see a high demand for XP, we can certainly backport it to 4.0..it's just a lot of effort for a single person though.

Just a small reminder, you can still play the game on a XP computer! Just follow the manual patching tutorial and direct launch the client.

If you need the logip and chatip, its login.mabi.pro

Yeah almost forgot to mention that, you can certainly manually patch the game and direct launch it as well.
The launcher is not required to play.
