All calculations are based on the assumption that you are feeding your weapon during unhappy stages 1 through 4, which will give max exp values. For the sake of simplicity, calculations also assume weapon growth for all stats are normalized (to see the details for your weapon type and gender, see growth efficiency). Prices are arbitrarily assumed, market rates may differ.

If possible, try to feed your weapon items as close to 999 gold as possible without actually going above. This will prevent your ego weapon's hunger from filling up more than the minimum amount. Gold to exp ratio has rapidly diminishing returns as you scale up, and will fill your weapon's hunger much faster, so it is not recommended buying more expensive items for weapon feeding. Gems always fill maximum amount of hunger, while gem powders always fill the minimum.

Below are a comparitive list of the most common ways to feed your weapon.

950 gold item: 0.227 exp per gold
Best gold value, low growth
Quick, easy, always available, and can feed a lot. Sometimes you can't find a decent item above 600 gold for a specific stat, which can really hurt this strategy. It's still the best way to go if you don't have free items or any of the below items to feed it.

Blessed Gem Powder (at 10k gold): 0.03 exp per gold, across all stats (total value for all stats is 0.15 exp per gold)
Decent gold value, okay growth
One of the best options in the game, but it can be pretty hard on your inventory.

Elite Gem Powder (at 130k gold): 0.023 exp per gold, across all stats (total value for all stats is 0.115 exp per gold)
Okay gold value, fastest growth
For DIY metallurgy, it can be faster to make 10 blessed gem powder by sifting for neko gems. If you can fund it though, elite gem powders are the fastest exp per hunger items in the game.

Diamonds (at 25k per cm): 0.015 exp per gold, across all stats (total value for all stats is 0.075 exp per gold)
Poor gold value, okay growth
Diamonds scale a bit better than linear by size, so a fat diamond can be a good exp payout for your weapon. Since it has poor gold value ratio and fills too much hunger, its better to save the small ones for rune crafting, and the large ones to gift to Voight.

About directly feeding gems:

Iria Gem for Strength (at 1cm, ~12k): **0.01 exp** per gold, for that stat only
Iria Gem for Strength (at 5cm, ~12k): **0.073 exp** per gold, for that stat only
Poor gold value, low growth

Neko Gem for Strength (at 1cm, ~2k): **0.064 exp** per gold, for that stat only
Neko Gem for Strength (at 5cm, ~2k): **0.44 exp** per gold, for that stat only
Okay gold value, low growth

Iria gems breaks even with elite gem powder at around 5cm, but due to gems providing max hunger value vs elite powder only giving 1, you're still better off grinding down any gems below around 8cm.

Neko gems breaks even with blessed powder at only 2.1cm, but wont break even with vendor items until 3cm. For the same reasons above, I don't recommend directly feeding gems below 5cm. Large neko gems are worth holding on to as an inventory efficient, high hunger filling item while doing content to get you back in the action ASAP.

Multistat gems will provide slightly higher total stats and can be a better value for your gold, but shouldn't be so far different to change these recommendations.

About fishing for weapon exp:

Fishing in Solea beach is a very fast way to grow your weapon without paying any gold. Although the high gold value items will fill your weapon's hunger very fast, making you need to afk with your weapon out more, the sheer gold value of these items can really make up for it. Recommend using an alt account with rank 1 fishing and a W22 item rod so that you can simultaneously starve your ego weapon while fishing up items at the same time.

About the exp cap and level cap:

A weapon cannot gain more than 6% exp from a single item. This is only really a problem in the earlier levels where this is possible with high gold value items, diamonds, and gem powders. Do not feed blessed gem powders before level 11 in all stats. Do not feed elite gem powders before level 23 in all stats. Diamonds and gems depend on the size, but it should be safe to feed 1cm at level 11, with larger sizes being safe at around level 20.

Most players won't have to worry about the level cap as very few people on this server have actually hit level 50. But be mindful that once you have hit level 50 and fill an additional 100% exp in a stat, any item that gives exp in that stat will not provide exp at all for all other stats. This means that if you rush out level 50 strength and hit 100%, items like gem powders and diamonds will not do anything for your weapon.
