This post is to address the recent unexpected server maintenances that have occurred over the past few days and to explain what has been happening.
I try to stay as transparent as possible with our community and I feel that you have the right to know why these maintenances have occurred and why your player experience has been affected by these issues without us specifying a decent reason before.
These events were all to address the same critical issue - our database server has been going offline unexpectedly.
This results in players being unable to join the game, player data of currently online players to stop saving, pets being unable to summon, messenger to stop working, etc etc. Essentially, everything stops working.
The game being unable to access the database causes it to stay frozen in that state until a full server restart brings it to the state it was in when the database crashed.
This has resulted in server rollbacks up to periods of 1 hour on several occasions now, and I apologize greatly for being unable to properly handle these issues and address them as server owner and administrator.
We as a team try our best to keep the player experience as best as it possibly can, and I feel that as a server administrator I have failed my primary purpose so again I apologize for the inconvenience that these events have caused.
Technical details:
The machine that the SQL server runs on has 10GB of RAM allocated to it, and our SQL server is configured to utilize about 9GB of RAM at any given moment for caching purposes. However, the machine was also being used to host other services that were not configured to play nicely with our RAM configuration - this means that there was an over allocation of system resources and the SQL server was being choked on RAM by other processes. I have moved these other processes off of the node that hosts the database server, and should have fixed the over allocation issue.
We will try our best to make sure that these issues never happen again.

I think this requires a region editor, which we do not have. Maybe once we reverse the region format, we can remove the seats and replace them with actual seat props.

Hi, just thought I'd let you know we are aware of the issue, but it is not currently being looked into due to a backlog of other higher priority issues.

Looks like a lot of work has been put into this, it's very well made. Keep up the good work, I'm sure that this is useful to tons of players so we appreciate it.

This is something that can definitely be fixed, I think there is some people in the community here who have some knowledge about this.
We're looking into fixing it ourselves but have been busy with other work.

This would distract our staff from a lot of other work, so we will not do this.
The OP of this post has started working on this themselves though for anybody who wants to see it here.

MabiNovel is a rather complex system and I am not certain that it would be possible, at least not in the same way that MabiNovel works. We may be able to do a similar system, but certainly it would not be quite the same.
