This is what I installed. It says redistributable but is the wrong version?

Oh, I see the problem.

Actually, the launcher is built against .NET 4.5 (which you don't have) not .NET 4.0.
This is unfortunate because .NET 4.5 cannot be ran on Windows XP.

We're unable to build it against anything lower than 4.5 due to underlying code requirements for libraries that only exist in 4.5 and above.

Ah, well that is unfortunate indeed. But thanks so much for clearing it up!

Yeah, however if we see a high demand for XP, we can certainly backport it to 4.0..it's just a lot of effort for a single person though.

After the maintenance I'm unable to play, my launcher won't allow me to click the 'start' button. Here's what it look like? Anyway for me to fix it?

http://imgur.com/a/k5Acn

Go into your installation directory and delete any file that looks like the following: 214_to_215.zip or a folder similar like 214_to_215.
The number will probably be 227_to_228, but the concept is the same. Delete it.

Hello Milletians!

Recently, we've noticed a lot of you have been experiencing connection issues to the game server.
These issues can be seen by looking at our 3 day historical graph for player count.

Snapshot taken 2 days ago (as of this post).
These issues have been common in the past week or so.

If you experience these issues, we highly recommend that you download WinMTR and then give us samples of the MTR while the issue is occuring. Typically, it will last for about 2 minutes and then your connection will resume and be perfectly fine.

Here is an example of an MTR that clearly highlights where the issue originates:

As you can see, the packet loss is originating at a router owned by one of our datacenter's ISPs: Cogent.
This means the packet loss is totally out of our control, and only people who use this specific router will encounter the packet loss.
East coast players and European players will typically go through Cogent.
(Sometimes those players don't, and sometimes other players do though, it depends on how congested the alternative routes are and which one is considered the fastest)
We've already contacted the data center about 2 days ago and the issue is being looked into. We believe that the data center has pinpointed the problem and has begun to work on fixing it, however we do not hear a lot back from them typically until they completely fix the problem.

Just thought I'd let you all know what's going on with that, and what to expect.
Have fun and enjoy your time on MabiPro!

Just a small reminder, you can still play the game on a XP computer! Just follow the manual patching tutorial and direct launch the client.

If you need the logip and chatip, its login.mabi.pro
Yeah almost forgot to mention that, you can certainly manually patch the game and direct launch it as well.
The launcher is not required to play.

I went to the directory and removed the folder like you said and it seemed like everything was fine: https://imgur.com/a/GF1SL
But the game didn't load and instead this popped up: https://imgur.com/a/5ZtCk
After closing it and trying to run it again, the same issue occurred: https://imgur.com/a/96jPc
I don't really know what happened but I hope I'm being as transparent as possible because it just started happening randomly.
Delete the patch files...again.
I am unsure why it is trying to update again, but either way it failed.

The 142 error is totally different though, that means the launcher did it's job and tried to launch the game.
Read faq Frequently Asked Questions from MabiPro's Tech(..) for info about that.

Finding installation directory:

Before you can install the new launcher, you must find the installation directory. This is the directory that you installed the game to.

Shortcuts?
Did you create a shortcut or something for the old launcher?
If so, right click the shortcut and hit "Open File Location".
If you didn't create a shortcut....how are you launching it? Hopefully however you are doing that also has Open File Location. The Start Menu and Task Bar typically also have this option.

Windows Search?
If Windows Explorer search has indexed the location, it should be able to locate Client.exe quite fast. This should show you where the location of each Mabinogi installation on your system resides, including MabiPro!

Installer's default directory?
Another way to get an idea of where you might have installed it is by using the installer. If you still have the installer downloaded, that is.
Running the installer and then looking at the directory that it tries to use by default may jog your memory (maybe you just left it at default).

Worst case scenario? Reinstall..?
The worst case scenario is that your installation directory has just vanished from the face of the Earth, and you might aswell just redownload the latest package and reinstall the game. The latest package (227 installer) has the new launcher included already.

Installing the new launcher:

You simply have to drag & drop the new launcher's .EXE file into the installation directory that we found earlier, then run the new launcher.
You can download the new launcher by clicking here.

Just a note, we've received a response from the datacenter:
Posted by (the datacenter)
"We've made some adjustments to our connections with the provider you've shown loss with on our networks. Please keep an eye on it over the next day or so and let us know if the issue is still occurring."

That being said, if you still experience problems please make sure to let us know and if possible give us an MTR.

This is because Mabinogi is packed with Themida. (This was done by Nexon, not us, so normal Mabinogi is also probably flagged)
Consider switching to a superior antivirus, there is nothing we can do.

Sorry that this maintenance was extended for so long - I was busy some situations going on in real life and I also wanted to make sure that the issue was looked into thoroughly before starting the server back up.

Now that I've dealt with the situations IRL, I was able to diagnose the problem and bring it back up.

Thanks for the patience!

No idea what happened with that last maint but :
-it take a long time to get the "character information" when you log in to you account
- seem to take longer time to load the maps
- take very long time to summon pet
- the combat feel more delayed

Even if according to the window resource monitor i still have a ping around 100ish

2 of those are placebo effects and have not have any problems or changes.
Pet summoning and logging in (and all database operations really) are mildly delayed due to high load on our database server, but everything else is fine.

Loading maps is mostly clientside and the NPC clients were not modified (and game server is under low load) so there is no combat lag.

Do we condone it? Not really, but there is nothing we can do about it. Realistically it's not our problem.

Well, you still have to delete the patch files/folders. Try running the patcher as administrator next time.

Try downloading the 227 installer and reinstalling the game.
Also, install it to a different directory this time (maybe a folder on your desktop would be a good idea).

I do not.

Goto the downloads page and download the 227 Client Installer.

This will bring you to version 227 which is only 2 versions behind the latest patch. Judging by where your patcher was failing, it was able to patch at least a few times, which means this should work.

We're definitely still considering ways to get character cards in the first place, and we're also thinking of ways to introduce many new items (or old items, rather, depending on your prospective!) including these clothes.
