Alternatively add shadow mission style rewards, or checks containing gold to the end chests so they actually have a reason to be spammed besides hunting pages.

I was wondering if it was possible to uncap certain skills like meditation, rest, first aid, and so on even though the books don't exist even on live. Additionally wondering what the community would think about uncapping these skills and perhaps making the ways to train come from new content.

A 8-man defense style Minigame where you battle waves of monsters that used the rafting system to see if people were dead for extended periods of time that disabled nao's like the new content where you only had to survive with no extra gimmicks as more and more monsters spawned would be cool.

So basically the dragon boat racing event.
If it wasn't a race and instead a defense style mini game (think renes without the eggs to defend) and with an infinitely scaling difficulty of mobs. It'd be cool if it had leaderboards too so you could see which group of people has gotten the farthest.

Honestly in my opinion the best way to handle this would be to create a report section for harassment on the website that's separate from the bug report which can be moderated quickly and then only place restrictions on REPORTED OFFENSES. This would again be done at GM discretion but would allow for you to point directly at a particular line of text or screenshot in order to justify your actions. This would also prevent any claims of favoritism since you could explain WHY each person did or didn't get banned case by case in tickets.

I personally don't want anyone banned for anything they've ever said to or about me under any circumstances and would never use this feature, but at the very least it would allow people who DID want to take advantage of it to feel protected without causing the general community to feel that they're being over-moderated. It would also clear up controversies about why people got chat restricted and link statements that they've made directly to their punishments.

I don't see people complaining about AR
I know right?! Archery is so much easier for the fact that archers only have to rush AR and it's viable. What the fuck? That's messed up...

Show me someone doing ~600 average damage per arrow with AR before ttl 300 and I'll vote yes on this

Show me someone that does 600 damage per average ice bolt before total 300 and I'll take your post seriously
Ice-fire fusion bolt can reach that level, doesn't miss, and can be done with minimal ap cost and investment. To prove the point in the last two RBs I've gone from 15 total int to being able to crit for 2k with firebolt. Magic is without a doubt good enough without adding in chaincasting. If you want to buff something start with alchemy, it does the lowest average damage when fully maximized compared to other skillsets. Magic does close to the highest.

You also can't CC fusion bolt. You also can't shoot all 5 arrows at once to get a 6.5X modifier plus your crit % as one singular shot.

Completely out of context but I don't believe that it's fair to compare the damage of archers and the damage of mages because of cast time. To get the max multiplier for fusion bolt you have to charge all 5 times. An archer can do that damage in a split second whereas a mage would take too long to be any use after the first wave of enemies. Most people forget this part and immediately rush to "It's broken"

Depending on the distance the archer is, and the rank of bolt magic the mage has, it is possible to shoot the FB before the archer is done with his AR, though it would be close. But yes, in general the archer will get off more shots than a mage with FB. We have to remember that archery and magic are two different types of damage dealers though. Archery is a somewhat fast DPS type, especially with AR. While magic is a more hit-like-a-truck every couple seconds sort of thing.

Edit: Speaking of hitting like a truck, meteor strike when?
You're forgetting 10 second charge fireballs due to chaincasting staves
You're forgetting chaincasted fire wands and 10mp potions allows for faster and higher damage than magnum spam besides maybe elves
You're forgetting that in a party, charging between waves makes damage output of mages much MUCH higher and more stable than archers
You're forgetting archer miss chance gets them killed 20% of the time they go to fire arrows
You're forgetting that mages have 2x-3x the life due to Mana shield
You're forgetting that mages have options on how to juggle aggro besides just "I hope I don't get multiaggro'd"
You're forgetting that HAILSTORM OUTRANGES EGO LLBS AND GUARDIAN BOWS
You're forgetting how ridiculously easy it is to rank almost every single int skill in the game.
Also you're mistaking G14 AR with G13 AR, our TOTAL DAMAGE AMONG ALL SHOTS is less than 4.5x (NOT 6.9x) due to defense stats and rarely does more than 500 damage (2.3x raw) for a full charge and endgame gear since monster defense reduced EVERY SHOT'S DAMAGE
And unless you're using an arbalest with minimal range you wont crit in end game missions at ALL

Just a few things to keep in mind before asking for even more buffs or comparing yourselves to other classes

If my memory is correct I never wanted to buff mages. Just wanted them to be viable. Buffing implies that it stood a chance in the first place. And despite everything we supposedly "forgot," mages are still outclassed
Sure in the same way that everything is outclassed by braindead golems. If you're looking for the strongest skillset you should have played that. Magic has it's place and is plenty viable so long as you're not playing the class incorrectly. Every class has things it does well and things it doesnt. Magic can easily clear high end elite missions and new custom content like caverns with a single skill. If you're not enjoying the class then pick something else, but its average damage far exceeds most other classes if you're in your niche and has the versatility to compete with other classes even if you aren't so long as you have the equipment (Upgraded Dragon staves, cc+4 fire wands, etc. ) .

I haven't gotten there on Pro, so I wouldn't know. However if you're at the endgame, you better have endgame gear with some good enchants-or that's on you.
As someone who IS at end game I can guarantee you that everything you said before this sentence makes it apparent that you are nowhere near end game. Everything you said in rebuttal is some form of wrong or at the very least misguided.
1 Fireball deals 10-20k damage against endgame clearing all rooms in normal content
3 Your party always makes opportunities for you to charge since its end game and if you're challenging the content without comms or understanding you're going to fail regardless of party composition
4 try archery and then read your statement again, you have no clue how it works, so from someone with 1.5k levels in it i can tell you this line is complete bullshit
5 mana shield scales with mana, and the only skills that grant mana are magic skills. Sure anyone can get it, but explain how you can get 700+ mana without ranking magic skills and i'll retract the statement. Until then it stands
6 thunder is the main tool for clusters, ice spear works for lines of monsters, fusion ice lightning can stun area of effect temporarily for party members, ice bolt spam can hold 4 monsters with cc+3 wand, etc etc. If you cant juggle aggro it means you're not playing the class correctly.
7 Ignoring AR since that skill deals absolutely no damage, 3 mags means on average 1 will miss on average which nets you around 2.5k damage, then during the duration you can maybe get off 4 more so lets say you hit 6/7. You have a chance of dying 1 time during that and deal around 6-9k total damage. During that time the mage has hit 10 separate hail storms 5 charge with 0% miss chance dealing average of 15k damage with no chance of death since knock back and stun time allow the skill to waste any monster without blue ping. These are actual numbers from end game with similar levels of investment weighted cost-wise if anything to the archer.
8 the only "difficult" thing in this game is the grind. Weaving, refining, tailoring, handicraft. if you don't have these ranked up your damage will be SEVERELY hindered on archery (80-90%). Mages can easily rank all the music skills and a few magic skills for a free 500 int and from there its a matter of getting an extra 40-50% (or 30-50% to compare to the archery number) of your damage more damage from the harder books to acquire and smithing.
9 All I'm saying is that AR is complete trash so don't even compare it to anything except maybe wind blast. ice bolt cc with 200 int deals more damage, charges faster, and doesn't miss. The only damaging skills archery has outside of uladh normal mode dungeons is crash shot and magnum shot.

If you want to continue this conversation post from your main account so I can tell what portion of the game you're in, otherwise this conversation is over. If you're trying to extend the worst part of magic to the whole and compare it to the most powerful parts of every other class since you haven't experienced endgame yet then there's no point in explaining something you'll experience first hand in a few months.

What we could do is have a sort of community jury. Get random people/volunteers that neither of the two parties know and give them the evidence on hand, and let them decide on what should happen. That is the best system that anyone in human history has really come up with, and it has (mostly) worked so far.

This sounds like way too much work for something so silly. I only even think a "report" system is appropriate to bring attention to things that have gotten way out of hand, such as in the conditions that Auburn stated. Interpersonal drama shouldn't be moderated. If someone calls you a bad name and it is really affecting you, blacklist them and move on.

Likewise, for members of the staff, if you are offended by what a community member is saying, I understand that it is certainly within your right to do whatever the heck you want, because it is your server, and again, this is not a service. Personally, I am not a big fan of censorship in general. Almost all situations resolve on their own without authority intervention, and people aren't going to up and kill each other over it. If someone is "creating crisis", they're not going to pull a knife on their neighbour. Yes, some people might get salty and speak in aggressive text tones, but that's about the worst that can happen. I think that's just how people are and there is no need for external moderation.

Careful now, there was that old guy that tried to kill some kid over losing a Fortnite game. You never know when some guy trash talks after winning a PVP and is never seen again.

I think there was more to it than just losing a game of Fortnite. Generally people who do that kind of thing have a very long list of prescribed medications that they not decide to take.

I'm pretty sure you can get all the training you need from ToA basic/int if you haven't done any other skills. Hell you can probably solo adv if you have ranked stuff. This might be a matter of lack of knowledge rather than the skill actually being difficult to train since AFAIK nobody has made a guide on cp to hp efficiency to density yet.

Just make it so that donations give consumables like fireworks, tiered secondary titles, or custom sprays. Alternatively you could allow for permanent or semi-permanent in-game world cosmetics like a statue of the player with the highest donations, or season selection to make it snow in dunbarton or something. So long as there's no permanent effect or temporary combat/life skill buff I think rewards are fine. That said as a poorfriend I don't have the funds to donate so my opinion might be a bit biased from that perspective.

Sounds like a neat idea actually, but aren't you forgetting that there's a jack of all trades skill set that humans could get bonuses in? Something that has been mostly ignored in the newer content that makes sense for humans, who have neither the physical strength of giants nor the magical aptitude and dexterity that elves have, to specialize in?

There are plenty of easy to implement things you could do to make it better for humans, like the off hand cylinder thing live did. Granted you couldn't give it the bonuses you get on live, but it would allow you to have a substantial bonus to the damage for alchemy as a human even if it only increased the elemental affinity bonuses of alchemy and didn't have upgrades. either that or an extra "cylinder" enchant slot would give them an actual solid class identity in the same way that giants get full cleave in trans and elves get .5 load magnum and double damage with their base attack as well as higher int.

It might need further balancing as this is just an idea (and probably overpowered without looking more into it) but as it is now alchemy could use a buff similar to this anyway and making it for humans would definitely give them that kind of identity you're speaking of. Alchemy really isn't in a good spot right now compared to other classes without abusing golems so a buff seems warranted either way.

Currently all they can do is import items from live for now as I dont think they've finished figuring out how to make the software work with mabi's client, and creating custom content like this likely would take a very large amount of time even when they get it working so I'm willing to bet that this kind of thing isn't something that will even be considered for a while.

Human archery in comparison has long load times and low damage/dps. Arrow revolver does very low damage, and humans must rely on it a lot because magnum shot's load time (1.5s for humans compared to the 0.5s of elves) is too long in many practical situations. Because of its clunkiness, it does not serve well as a primary skillset for humans. This is mainly due to the two points I've raised above (low AR damage, slow magnum shot). Further, not having access to mounted archery hinders humans' ballistic capabilities. Buffing AR's numbers (I know this has challenges due to the damage values not being exposed in the files), decreasing Magnum Shot's load time (from 1.5s to 1s, for example -- a very easy change), and/or giving humans mounted archery (I also know this is challenging) would be helpful to helping human ranged be more viable.

As a (currently 1.7k) human archer I can say that lowering magnum to 1 second wouldn't be enough to balance the class out with elves, though I'd prefer mechanical changes to AR over pure buffs to magnum. I dont think a slight numbers increase like live did is the right solution either, it would have to be something like guaranteed knockback on 3rd and 5th hits to make knockdown cycle more manageable, or adding guaranteed poison effect to the 3rd hit and removing the 4th and 5th hits while re-balancing the damage to account (maybe something like 100/113/123%) while removing the bonus aim for the first attack. As is AR does almost no damage due to defense flat damage mitigation affecting every hit, is only able to be fired 3 times before knockback causing the following shots to either have to be fired at a delay or reset their balance and cause them to run at you while you have nothing loaded, and overall is only really useful as a normal arrow with slightly faster aim speed in almost every scenario. And then at that point elves have you beat still since their default attack already has 2 arrows and can be used while running. Magnum may be worse on humans than elves but I personally would rather them diversify the different classes further than try to homogenize them. Same goes for mounted combat imho. I know this is asking more of the content development team, but it doesn't seem right to just try and make all the classes the same when more elegant solutions could allow for more diversity of play styles and more unique character development as a result.

That said that's just like, my opinion, and would require much more effort on the content creation team to make it a reality, so I dont know how balanced/feasible it is.

The reason def/protection values are so low is because they were balanced around early content. How many mobs can hit for over 500 damage in alby/ciar/math/rabbie? Then you look at things like BitW Elite and every mob hit will be dealing a minimum of 400 damage non-crit and you better prepare your bum because they have more than 140% crit. The difference is night and day. Whether or not the values should rise is up to the devs and the server, but it makes sense why they are so low to begin with.

Just a heads up this isn't a /pure/ old school server. There's a lot of new content added in the forms of generation quests, shadow missions, pay2play turned free to play, and so on. Additionally a lot of fashion items have been added from live, though with the notable exception of wings. You can find out more about this kind of stuff on the forums, and dont forget to join the (un)official discord if you haven't already: https://discord.gg/8nxG3UF

Sorry if this has been suggested before, but can there be a way to bless spirit weapons? Whether through spirit liqueur, holy water, or some other method would be great.
This has been suggested before, and they decided against adding it for the somewhat obvious reason that it would be too strong. Most egos have twice the durability of their counterparts anyway so the only downside to them being unblessed is their absurd repair costs, which is intended given that they're some of the most powerful weapons in the game.
