HOW TO BEEKEEP CLICK HARD ON THE NECTAR HONEY IN YA HAND KISS THE BEE HELL YEAH
So you want to learn about BEES huh? Well I'll help you get started.
BEEKEEPING is a new skill introduced in mabipro that works via the new BeeBox pet. It's attractive to many players for it's stam, str, and luck boosting, and to some others for the large variety of crafting recipes it introduces as well. Let's dive right in.
The following is based on my own experimentation of beekeeping in game since release as well as information from the included book.
OBTAINING THE BEES
The first step for any beekeeper is to have Florins. If you haven't already, start doing Madoc and Ascon part time jobs in Port Cobh. Repeat those every 35 minutes until you get 50 OR MORE florins. But 50 at least. Then head to Tamon.
You can now buy a BeeBox for 30 florins. I also suggest buying the HIVE FRAME (15 Florins) and the BEEKEEPING ROBE (5 Florins).
You may not think at first you need the robe but YOU DO. BUY IT. IT'S 5 FLORINS.
Name and summon your beebox. Meet your new colony! You should open it's inventory and pull out the new beekeeping guidebook. DO NOT THROW OUT THIS GUIDEBOOK. It has useful information that you'll need during your beekeeping journey! The Book will detail how to get started harvesting nectar and honeycombs, the types of honey you can make, as well as how you can gain and lose bees. The back section is REALLY good, because it shows the types of flowers in each region in Uladh. Currently, Beekeeping is Outdoors Uladh only. Do not beekeep in Housing, Iria, Avon, Dungeons, Shadow Missions, or Inside any building. Put that hive frame in the beebox inventory for now. While you might be able to add it immediately, you won't need it right away as it only affects the amount of Honeycombs you get at the end. You can add 1 hive frame in initially, then 2 hive frames every time you go up a beekeeping tier.
USING THE BEEBOX
To use the beebox, you need your PropPet Interaction charm.
Use it while standing right next to your beebox to open the bee menu.
Check Hive will open 3 more options; Nectar status, BeeBox Status, and Training Status. NECTAR STATUS will give you a list of total nectar in the box and a HISTORY of collected nectars. Nectars do not stack- you have to count them manually. This will be important later when you need to start collection of specific nectar, but you don't need to worry about that until a certain rank. I will explain further below. BEEBOX STATUS will give you a rundown of your hive, including how many bees, how many hive frames you have, your tier, your rank, your training, and the overall Status Effects on your hive. More on Status Effects later. TRAINING STATUS will show you requirements to level up as well as how far you've trained already. If you're looking to recover bees, see Hive Death below.
Harvest Nectar is the meat of beekeeping. This is what you'll spend most of the time doing. When bees are ready, you can send them out, and at higher ranks to larger a larger radius. This adds a 10 minute cooldown. You can do it up to 3 times in succession, but each time will increase the chance of losing bees. You will also lose bees much more often in Rain. Rain negatively affects all beekeeping rates. It's also assumed that larger map regions (not search regions) like Tara will cause higher lose rates for bees.
Searching for nectar can also yield Pollen. Add pollen directly to your beebox and keep it summoned and eventually the queen will convert it to more bees. Or, if you have a multiple of 5, you can feed it directly to the beebox to get double the bees worth of pollen back.
At first, don't worry about getting anything but wildflower nectar. You won't be able to control what nectar you get until tier 3 anyways, so for now you're just grinding your beekeeping ranks. Suggested search location for training is Osna Sail, as it does not rain, and you can get lots of Uladh honey for royal drops.
Once you've filled your box with 100 nectar, honey making begins AUTOMATICALLY. This takes two hours. You can unsummon bees during this time. The longer you wait, the higher the quality the honey will be. A Nectar Guide is in the First Reply. PLEASE REFER TO IN GAME BOOK FOR HONEY REQUIREMENTS.
Collect Honeycombs will pull out 1 honeycomb per hive frame you have. WEAR THE BEEKEEPING ROBE DURING THIS! If you don't and bees sting you, the bees will die! The honeycomb is essentially a gachapon based on the nectar you collected. First, you need to meet the requirements for the specific honey you want, but every nectar that isn't for that is a % chance to get wildflower honey or otherwise. If you have more hive frames, you can increase the number of chances to get the honey you wanted. You will also receive Wax. Very rarely, it has been seen to get two honey's from one honeycomb.
Wax is a new material that can be used for Carpentry and Handicraft (see New Recipes below). The quantity of the wax is INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL to the quality of the honey. Better honey = less wax, and low quality honeycombs can produce Finer Wax. Things like Bee Smoking and Rain will affect the quality of the comb you pull out. Refer to the in game book for more details. When extracting honey of high quality, it's likely to also get some Royal jelly.Extracting from Deluxe Honeycombs can yield Royal Jelly and Double or Triple Honey.
Upgrade is the button you press when training is at 100%. It will advance your beekeeping skill rank and consume AP, and between tiers it will need an Upgrade Box. Each time you upgrade, you can add 2 more hive frames to your box to collect more honeycombs.
End Conversation you know what that means.
Notes about Wax
Wax and Fine wax come from your honeycomb and are used for a variety of things related to beekeeping. In order to get fine wax from poor honey, you need comb quality under 25. This is done by using status affects and rain at low ranks. To get fine wax at higher ranks, you'll need to produce deluxe combs only, as it gets harder and harder to reach under 25 due to passive quality bonuses.
ABOUT HIVE DEATH
This is probably why you're here. You killed your hive and you're panicking. Well, here's what you can do.
Feed 5, 10, 15, 20 pollen directly to beebox. Pulling in a multiple of 5 pollen will add double that amount to your bee count instantly. This is a LAST RESORT as you could get 50 bees from 5 via waiting or taming, but you will instead only get 10 if fed.
Place pollen in beebox inventory. If you have less than 5 pollen, you can put BEE POLLEN in your beebox. It must be item "Bee Pollen" and not "Pollen" from corrib valley. Over time, the queen will eat it and produce more bees. 1 pollen will become 10 bees. You must leave it summoned for this to happen.
Taming wild bees. In corrib valley, you can now find wild honeybees. If you have Bee Pollen (not corrib valley pollen) in the inventory of your beebox, you can feed it one of these honeybees to increase your bee count by 10. You must be wearing the beekeeping robe and have at least 1 pollen per bee in the hive. As of a recent fix, there is a very low rate to introduce bees without pollen.
Wait. If you have no pollen and no one's parting with any, you're stuck in the unfortunate position of afking with the beebox open for HOURS. Every 5 minute tick has a 1% chance to produce 10 new bees randomly.
HIVE STATUS EFFECTS
You can provide different effects to your hive based on items and upgrades. the SMOKEBOX for example can pacify bees during collection of honeycombs to reduce bee death and stings, but will create horribly low quality honey. It's activated using a torchstick. This method can be used to collect more wax and fine wax at lower ranks.
ROYAL WATER can increase the chances of producing deluxe honeycombs with high quality honey.
BOTTLED WATER will flush out all your nectar and has the chance to kill up to 1/4th of your hive population. This is not advised unless you need to quickly change to making a different type of honey.
ABOUT NECTAR DIVIDER
The nectar divider is a must purchase add on at tier 3. When you are ready to collect nectar, it will prompt you to ask whether or not you'll use it. Then, it will roll nectar collection 3 times, letting you choose which of the 3 you place in the box. You can use it up to 3 times just like regular gathering. The book contains an error. This tool is suggested when you need 1 specific rare type honey.
TIERS
Tiers control what upgrades you can add to your box as well as maximum amount of bees.

NEW RECIPES
Beekeeping has also introduced new recipes for Carpentry, Potion Making, Cooking, and Handicrafting. Some of these are for special status effects, some for beekeeping themselves, and some are for the new quest board in port cobh.
Cooking
Recipes for Sticky Honey, Honey Berry Tea, Honey Taffy, Herbal Honey Tea, Honey Cough Syrup, Royal Water, and Reinvigorating Water are listed in the book. Royal Jelly and White Herbs have been altered to be cookable for these recipes. This section will be updated as effects are found.
HONEY BERRY TEA - raises int and defense, reduces weight and lower. images are from 4 star.
HONEY TAFFY - does nothing we can see so far
HERBAL HONEY TEA - apparently nothing but weight loss, but there might be something we can't tell yet.
HONEY COUGH SYRUP - says it cures sicknesses. Haven't tested it yet because I'd like to test it when afflicted with something.
ROYAL WATER - adds "royal water" status effect to boxes and increases chances of getting a deluxe honeycomb (2 honeys)
REINVIGORATING WATER - sets nectar cooldown to 0. Suggested use: Saving at least one for when you're 3 nectar from honey making and on a 30 min cooldown.
STICKY HONEY / HONEY SYRUP - pure absolute buffoonery, but boosts str, will, and hp.
HONEY BAIT is in the MabiBase information for this revision, but requires experimentation to find. I as of yet have not discovered the recipe.
Potion Making
A variety of new potions were added, as well as 500 variants of MP, HP, and SP pots. This section will be updated as they are made. MabiBase was updated to include everything new!
HP,MP,SP - Require 5 of each herb, herbal honey, bottled water, and 5 magic powder
BURSTING POTION - increases player size to beyond maximum, increases strength by 50 and decreases dex by 40
Recipe: 1 Begonia Honey, 3 Snapdragon Honey, 1 base potion
Images:
MINIMIZING POTION - Decreases player size to youngest, increases dex by 50 and decreases strength by 60.
Recipe: 1 bindweed honey, 3 tir wort honey, 1 base potion.
Images:
EXPERTISE POTION - increases gained experience points by 2.6x for 30 minutes.
Recipe: 2 sun rose honey, 1 south uladh honey, 1 base potion.
Images:
STONE BE GONE - removes petrification from all party members.
Recipe: 1 aster honey, 1 tara wildflower honey, 1 base potion.
Images:
As a note: while it is effective, you need to have very fast reflexes. Petrification generally will wear off quickly, or monsters that use it will combo right away.
FLORAL POTION - reduces body weight to 0 from anything, but places you in a weakened status for around 10 minutes.
Recipe: 1 tir wildflower, 1 tara wildflower, 1 blago wildflower, 1 emain wildflower, 1 base potion.
Images:
VIOLET POTION - recovers 100 mana, then boosts max mp and int by 30 for 5 mins.
Recipe: 1 violet, 3 wildflower, 1 base potion
images:
As a note: the violet potion does not stack with the magic sapphire.
TOXICOSIS POTION - induces potion poisoning instantly. Reduces stats but makes regular potions more effective.
Recipe: 1 azalea death honey, 1 aster honey, 1 base potion
Images:
Handicraft
A variety of new handicraft recipes using the Common and Fine wax from honeycomb harvesting have been added.
Many of these items can help break past requirements that formerly required wood boards or other expensive materials. For example, the Wax Pencil is rank 7 difficulty and celtic cross rank 7, and can be made early on, making it great for ranking past A and 9.
nearly all new items are ready to make at low ranks. Here's a list of their difficulty rank so you can match it with your requirements: Wax Ring - D
Wax Flower - C
Wax Flower Pot - B
Wax Egg - A
Wax Pearl Necklace - 9
Wax Pencil - 8
Wax Celtic Cross - 7
the following were released with the Bees 2 Melia Patch, and require the Advanced Handicrafts Kit, purchasable at Madoc for 80 florins see posts below for Melia information Tiger Doll Accessory - 3
Bunny Doll Accessory - 3
Fox Doll Accessory - 3
Handmade Tailoring Kit - 4
the following was released with the Reoite Revamp Patch, and also require the advanced handicraft kit Obstacle Bomb - 5
About handicrafting wax goods (handicraft skill uncap book)
Handicrafting wax goods is a book purchasable from Melia in Blago prairie (see replies below) for 30 royal drops. It will raise your handicraft skill from rank 6 to rank 5. We advise saving your fine waxes for this mission, as it can get pretty expensive material wise. You do not need to have 100 points in handicraft rank 6 to use the book- or any points.
Use the book and it'll disappear, then change channels and you'll receive the quest.
Following the steps in this questline you'll fulfill all the requirements for rank 6 handicraft training, and upon completion you'll be rank 5.
You can find all the information about the Handicraft Uncap available through bees here: http://mabi.pro/thread/4245
the 80 florin handicraft book at Madoc will uncap rank 5 to rank 4 in a similar fashion, and requires the Advanced Handicraft Kit, also 180 florins. Using bee goods, you should be able to make another 160 florins fast!
Carpentry
Some very interesting items have been added with carpentry.
For starters, we can craft the upgrades for our beebox should we not want to buy them.
Other items such as Beginner Wands have been added. More details will be provided once we see the full abilities of beginner wands and they're upgrades. All we know so far is they are used for the Port Cobh Quest Board.
Mana Crystallization
This isn't a new recipe, but it's worth noting that Bee Pollen can be used to make Cloud Crystals. This can only be seen as an improvement.
ABOUT THE PORT COBH QUEST BOARD
The Port Cobh Quest board is another major update with beekeeping. It allows us to pick up quests to gain florins as well as important beekeeping materials like Royal Drops.
You may only pick one quest at a time, and you can't see what the quest is until you get it. However, the same quests will always have the same rewards, so you can Predict what you'll get.
Honey Quests will take the most time. It's suggest to pick one before gathering nectar, unless you want to sift through tons until you get one you have the honey for. Basic and Intermediate honey quests will reward decent amounts of exp, gold, and florins OR royal drops. The quest I recommend doing for regular royal drops is Uladh Honey. You can find it by matching the reward shown below.
Advanced honey quests will require multiple steps. It is advised AND intended that you pick the quest, and then start looking for honey for advanced quests. This will reward the deluxe drop needed for higher ranks. A list of screenshots of various advanced quests will be in a post below, however.
Carpentry Quests are the most common one people will do. These are for experience and florins mostly. Carpentry quests include things like Making 3 Beginner Wands for 3 florins, A Mandolin for 7 florins, Wooden Blades for Experience and Gold, Great Mallet for 6 florins, and so on.
Handicraft Quests are likely to be the most difficult. These require making multiple things using bee products, and at high handicraft ranks. But, also the potential to have the most yield and popularity once wax becomes more available server-wide. Hopefully, more shops set up in port cobh will be nothing but wax. My suggested price for Common Wax will be under 1k, but we'll see what the market decides later on.
Special Deliveries are an advanced version of Madoc's part time job. They involve making a certain amount of items and then delivering it to a specified person, for a larger amount of florins. They are the rarest but by far the most florin-profitable for your time.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a successful beekeeping career!

About Melia
A strange new friend arrives in Blago Prarie with a taste for royalty and a love of all things bees. You can find her in the small clearing north-east of Lezzaro's winery!
There's a special grove of wildflowers in blago prarie that bees love in particular. So much so that it has attracted the princess of insects herself, Melia!
Melia is a new shop NPC that will exchange your royal drops for all kinds of goods, and even trade in your honey for exploration experience.
The experience you gain depends on both the type of honey you give as well as it's quality, but it's a hefty amount either way.
The new items added are:
Honeycomb dress (12 royal drops)
Honeycomb shoes (8 royal drops)
Honeycomb hat (8 royal drops)
Butterfly suit (12 royal drops)
Butterfly shoes (8 drops)
Butterfly hat (8 drops)
Honeybees (1 royal drop)
Handicrafting Wax Goods (30 royal drops)
Beekeeper title coupon (5royal drops)
Bee Shaped Side Bag (40 royal drops)
As of revision 365, the Servant Update:
Servant Coupon 100k (8 royal drops)
Servant Coupon 500k (35 royal drops)
As of revision 369, the Skillmaker Update:
1 florin (5 royal drops)
Azalea Honeycomb (2 royal drops) - this honeycomb is exactly the ones you pluck from corrib valley trees. they have all been edited to sometimes have wax.
Butterfly Dress (12 royal drops)
Butterfly Headdress (8 royal drops)
Butterfly Boots (8 royal drops)
The bee shaped side bag cannot be used in addition to the heart shaped side bag - you may only use one at a time. Currently, there is no removal for the heart bag. Updates about the bee bag will come when the removal is available. Thanks for understanding.
IMPORTANT UPDATE AS OF 10/22/22
a beekeeping update was made to convert beekeeping into real skill. As such, some requirements will require you to get different honey and certain things related to the quest board and melia have changed. This guide has not been fully updated to reflect these changes, but the beekeeping guidebook in game has for your reference. As it stands, this guide is not a Ranking Guide, but a bonus manual for specific features of beekeeping, most of which have not changed, so many items below remain the same, but you may not find specific things until I update this guide fully. Thanks. _________________________ Minigame Host, Guild Leader, Mental Breakdown waiting to happen
