I'm not entirely sure i'm interpreting this right, but anyways.

I will be honest, feels like it's overpowered defense, that encroaches into windguard's territory.
If it were a combat specialist skill, i'd consider asking for some kind of benefit to giant's, not necessarily anything major mind you, but with what i read of the skill... skill just seems too much. It'd be exceptional at things you could normally handle anyway, still get you killed at things that outpower you. But i would assume the effectiveness of it, when it's actually useful, to be too high.

And it honestly needs a critical comparison to other skills before being seriously considered. Official mabi, i really wouldn't think twice because you're just supposed to be so darned op on there. But i don't want this server to go the way of official mabi, punish the players for making mistakes and not preparing themselves. Just my view on it though.

nah i disliked dynamic combat a lot. I wouuldn't suggest new content going in that direction. but you're more than likely not understanding because of my long wording. to clear up some points

i beleive a skill without balaned counterplay is broken

*Windguard = No stuns are possible minous windblast which is weird)
*Guard = stuns on the tanker
Attacking a guard user will stun them as normal.

* you'd need to invest into a defensive build instead of a damage build. or a balanced build. otherwise your guard will be melted (broken easil) so you'll do lower damage by nature

*i intended for this skill to be most effective in the order of giant > human > elf by the defense value given per rank because its melee

within guard, your two attack options are normal attack and shield bash (serpate skill) shield bash is basically like focus punch, but it does lower damage and missing it once will make it enter into a 7 second cooldown. so your attack will have a better advantage of the guarder for attacking

*i ented to buff evasion skill so you can dodge shield bash. and rather than turn it into a rock / paper scissors thing, it would be moreso about fake outs, making your opponet waste their shield bash or make them evade into a shield bash then starting your comb lo

I really do like this idea. I have one little part I'd like to suggest about revising the way Guard would interact with Watercannon, have it so there is no stun on long distance water cannon, but stun on 5 charge and/or close range hit. This is how it interacts with the defence skill as well.

to create a large varity in shields, i choose t o add this featutre in aswell




whats in yellow is when you can react to attacks with tower shield. whats in blue is medium. I want to retouche these values later to make sure all 3 shield reaction speeds are balacned for the attacker and tanker. but for now

Small / Buckler - Reacts quicker to attacks, but tanks less
Medium = Reacts medium, tanks medium
Tower / Large = reacts slow, tanks heavy damage

I created this shield with the help of a lovely data digger from mabination. The model was provided by her. i did the text / color work




looking back at this old picture, reforge slot wouldn't be required thankfully. and the values would have to be adjusted

If you go the complex skill route, I say, based on rank, that a % of the damage should go to your health instead. Something like, rank N, 35% goes to health instead and at rank 1, only 10%. This keeps it from being far too powerful and making sense, seeing that with defend, you still always take damage unless it's a large shield.

Yea think I made Guard too complex for the Mabi's sense. Kinda overestimated players skill cap. My Guard would be more fitting for dark souls or another game lol
