With new Dreamcatcher being kinda in a weird place from what I see, I've been thinking if it'd be possible to add cylinder off hands (maybe using guard cylinder animations?). But read me out, it would give - alchemy damage just as Dreamcatcher does also w/o masteries it'd not be so op, on top it could decrease your defenses? I was thinking maybe it couldn't be dual wielded with Cylinder, but could be used with melee, but also decreasing melee damage if you do? Or second option being able to be dual wielded with Cylinders, further decreasing damage but letting you quicker load crystals.

What do you guys think about my ideas for off-hand cylinders?

I think the idea is great, those who don't want to devote everything to alchemy could still use the skills without the weapon-swapping for CC or a quick follow-up.

It might be still hard to balance those, though.

Dream catchers are already the melee/alch hybrid weapon.

Making wand/alchemy viable would e broken.

Bow/alchemy would also be sort of broken.

Dreamcatcher seems good as ego weapon only, true magic would be broken but how do you see bow alchemy? It'd still be same as it is now, you'd have to swap into secondary slot. As Sulcras said it'd need more balancing.

with bow/alchemy I meant a bow that can use alchemy.

I personally tried to import guard cylinders once and discovered that currently, it's impossible for off-hand items to support alchemy because the skill code was changed in a newer version to accept them, but in G13 the alchemy skills specifically check main weapon only. That's not to say it might never happen someday, but it would take extensive assembly hacking similar to adding new skills, so it hasn't been a top priority due to difficulty. Hang in there!!

What about making a special cylinder that wouldn't let you use a shield so basically "2h" weapon give it knuckles animations 3 hit fast weapon. Or other way around using knuckles for alchemy? Like Louis Armstrong Gauntlets?

Unless you're looking to add fighter skills in future.

Louis Armstrong Knuckles are already ingame files, just give em a cylinder function and done xd?

Problem I see with Louis Armstrong Knuckles is that they are Giant-only, I think they didn't get model for humans/elves at all.
