Triona Festival Screenshot Contest
Happy Summer months everyone! Last year we debuted our first major Player Run Event, the Triona Festival, hosted by the Goldensun Guild, to rousing success! To continue the tradition, we'll be starting our first event the same way: a Screenshot Contest! All players among the server are welcome to participate in this, and other events. Please stay tuned for post updates, as well as other forum posts surrounding Triona Festival.

This year, the theme of Triona Festival is pets, and as such, Pets will be the main focus during this contest. The winners will be announced during the opening ceremonies of the Triona Festival to be held after the first week of August. We hope to see you then!

The deadline for submissions has passed, thank you to those who participated!
Winners will be announced during the opening ceremonies for Triona Festival 2, details here: http://mabi.pro/thread/4699-triona-festival-2-all-about-pets-8-13
View Submissions Here!

Rules:
~Only 1 entry per category per person or group. You cannot submit 2 entries for either. If you do, we will pick the first one. You may submit one entry for each category.
~Two or more different players cannot submit the same photo. If you work together, you have to decide who is entering the photo and provide a list of names. Up to 3 credited players participating will receive a reward. Participants may not be in more than One group. If you are found to be Credited in multiple entries in one category, you will only be counted for the first entry you appear in.
~While mods for rendering or texture changes are allowed, no Hacking or going Out of Bounds will be permitted for this event.
~No photo editing is allowed, though you may crop your image, or splice 2 images to your best ability.
~Multiclienting to get additional subjects or use an alt for the cameraman is OK.
~You may log in and play as your pets for posing and angling.
~Ideally, use ctrl+n to hide player names and chat.

~Category 1: Solo Entry Pet Photo
Our primary category this year. Pose your pets using props, friends, and surroundings for your photo. A unique grading system will be used, as well as traditional voting. You may have Players and Pets interacting, as well as other people, but only the person submitting it will be rewarded. There will be Two Winners in this category, one decided by Judges Vote from an impartial group, and one decided by Popular Vote. Photos will be judged based on Clarity, Framing, and Subject.

~Category 2: Group Entry Pet Photo
Like the Solo entry category, you are to pose your pets to take an excellent photo. In this category, up to 3 friends may be credited and rewarded. Submit here if you want to work with others! You may have Players and Pets interacting with each other and other people, but only the 3 credited people will be rewarded. There will be only one winning group in this category, decided by Judging from an impartial group. Photos will be judged based on Clarity, Framing, Subject, and Action.

~~Examples~~

~Category 3: Solo Entry "The New NPC"
Design an outfit and character using yourself or an alt and take a photo of them where they'd be! Think about the region they'd be in, and the service they'd provide. The clearer the purpose of the NPC, the more points you will score. Two Winners will be selected from this category based on First and Second places in Impartial Voting.

~~Examples~~

Prizes
Listed below are the prizes per category.

Category 1
First Place:
Second Place:

Category 2
Each member of your group will receive the following set

Category 3
First Place
Second Place

Tips for taking a good photo
~Using a second client with a character that can play dead is useful for lining up good angled photos of yourself, rather than having the camera centered on you.
~Having a second client use a Tower Cylinder can provide an entirely unique angle and framing!
~ Press ctrl+N and ctrl+ P to hide names and parties, and use \ to hide all windows for a clearer workspace.
~Clicking outside the Mabipro window and using prtscr or a program like lightshot will get you a higher quality photo than mabinogi’s built in screenshot tool, and will get you a higher score.
~Using light sources well will improve your score. Some in game examples of unique light sources are lamp posts, handcrafted torches, magic music, blinker beams, and glowing trees.
~Props such as mimic statues, dropped items, housing furniture or tools, and Installed Alchemy structures can add extra subject and rhythm to your photos. Try it if you feel you need something extra!
~Action refers to what's happening in the scene. How are they interacting? Does the photo tell a story? Thinking about what you can do and how you can make it work in a photo will boost your score.

Winners from Previous Contests:

Landscape, Pinacolada

Group Action, Alphen, Shionne, Tachibito

About Melia

A strange new friend arrives in Blago Prarie with a taste for royalty and a love of all things bees. You can find her in the small clearing north-east of Lezzaro's winery!

There's a special grove of wildflowers in blago prarie that bees love in particular. So much so that it has attracted the princess of insects herself, Melia!
Melia is a new shop NPC that will exchange your royal drops for all kinds of goods, and even trade in your honey for exploration experience.
The experience you gain depends on both the type of honey you give as well as it's quality, but it's a hefty amount either way.

The new items added are:
Honeycomb dress (12 royal drops)

Honeycomb shoes (8 royal drops)

Honeycomb hat (8 royal drops)

Butterfly suit (12 royal drops)

Butterfly shoes (8 drops)

Butterfly hat (8 drops)

Honeybees (1 royal drop)

Handicrafting Wax Goods (30 royal drops)

Beekeeper title coupon (5royal drops)

Bee Shaped Side Bag (40 royal drops)

As of revision 365, the Servant Update:
Servant Coupon 100k (8 royal drops)

Servant Coupon 500k (35 royal drops)

As of revision 369, the Skillmaker Update:
1 florin (5 royal drops)

Azalea Honeycomb (2 royal drops) - this honeycomb is exactly the ones you pluck from corrib valley trees. they have all been edited to sometimes have wax.

Butterfly Dress (12 royal drops)

Butterfly Headdress (8 royal drops)

Butterfly Boots (8 royal drops)

The bee shaped side bag cannot be used in addition to the heart shaped side bag - you may only use one at a time. Currently, there is no removal for the heart bag. Updates about the bee bag will come when the removal is available. Thanks for understanding.

IMPORTANT UPDATE AS OF 10/22/22
a beekeeping update was made to convert beekeeping into real skill. As such, some requirements will require you to get different honey and certain things related to the quest board and melia have changed. This guide has not been fully updated to reflect these changes, but the beekeeping guidebook in game has for your reference. As it stands, this guide is not a Ranking Guide, but a bonus manual for specific features of beekeeping, most of which have not changed, so many items below remain the same, but you may not find specific things until I update this guide fully. Thanks.

The game continues until only very few players remain, who will then answer sudden death questions until one fails.

Rules: A team may have a Maximum of two players. You may enter solo, but you will be at a disadvantage, though you will get double the prizes. The list will be given to each team before the timer starts and each team will have a chance to see the full list before they may go. Players will have 15 Minutes to collect as many of the items on the list as possible. The first teams that collect all items, or the most items by the end of the time limit, will be the winners.

Along the way to the finish, there are 3 checkpoints your team must stop at to collect a token. You must land so one of your teammates may dismount from the balloon, collect the token, and return to the balloon before taking off again and heading to the next point. Flying pets and mounts are NOT ALLOWED during this event, and you will be watched throughout. The first team to reach the finish line (Calida Lake) with all 3 tokens will be determined the winner.

MabiPro 7th Anniversary Screenshot Contest!
Can you believe it? Seven whole years of MabiPro! Seven lucky years, seven lucky anniversaries. What better way to kick of the fun than with a lucky screenshot contest? The rules are similar to the ones we've had in the past, so make sure to brush up and pay attention to the details. Between now and the first day of the February, players will be allowed to submit screenshots in either category. All players are encouraged to join in the contest!

The contest has entered the voting period! View the Entries here!

The Theme
This contests theme will be Comedy vs Tragedy, so let's get theatrical! Display the funniest or most devastating moments you can think of in this game, staged or real. The twist? Comedy and Tragedy are teams! All players who submit a Comedy entry will be up against all players who submit a Tragedy entry. While there will be a first and second place winner, all participants on the side with the highest average score will win a small bonus prize! It's a battle for territory- who will win? Will joy prevail? Or will we all succumb to the darkness? Only you can help decide by taking amazing screenshots!

~Category 1: Comedy vs Tragedy
The primary category for this contest. Photos depicting Comedic or Tragic events happening to your player character or those around them. You may request the help of other players for this category, but it is a solo entry, meaning that only the person who submits it will receive the prize. Players who assist others are also allowed to submit their own entries. The usage of alts for these photos is allowed. Avoid showing text or names in your photos, focus on visual storytelling whenever possible. Photos will be judged on a 5-point scale by an impartial group, as well as on the Aesthetics Chart shown here.

First and second place will be determined by the impartial group. The aesthetics chart has the potential to award bonus points if your photo excels in the right traits for your theme (comedy or tragedy).

Example:

~Category 2: 4Koma Gag Comic
A bonus category this contest. In four frames, tell a story using screenshots taken in game. You don't have to hide names or text bubbles for this category, and the subject of the story can be anything you'd like, so long as you make a four-panel comic in MabiPro. You are allowed to edit your photos well for this category as well as superimpose images. You do not need to take this very seriously. All comics will be displayed publicly. All comic entries are solo, though you may borrow other people to make them. Players who assist others are also allowed to submit their own entries. The usage of alts for these photos is allowed. Photos will be judged based on popular vote, with only one first place winner.

~While mods for rendering or texture changes are allowed, no Hacking or going Out of Bounds will be permitted for this event.
~No photo manipulation is allowed for the first category, though you may crop your image, adjust light levels, or splice 2 images to your best ability. All photo editing is allowed for the second category.
~Multiclienting to get additional subjects or use an alt for the cameraman is OK.
~You may log in and play as your pets for posing and angling.
~Ideally, use ctrl+n to hide player names and chat.

Screenshot Contest
The time has rolled around again for another screenshot contest! We skipped Triona fest this year, but we can still have some fun and win some great prizes. As we have some new players lately too, this may be your first player event, and you are encouraged to participate! Whether you have ancient or surface level knowledge of this game, as long as you take a beautiful picture, you have a chance of winning!

Alongside the screenshot contest this time, we will also be having our first NPC REdesign contest! Similar to the NPC creation contest a few years back, this time you'll all be given one NPC to give an overhaul. Our target of ridicule: FERGHUS. Do you have what it takes to give him a makeover? To destroy and rebuild him? Can you fix him? Will he make you worse? Will you rewrite him to be broken in an entirely different way? It's up to you! More details of this can be found below.

~The Screenshot Contest Theme: A Secret Place!
The theme this time is "A secret place!"
Is there a spot in Mabipro that you particularly enjoy? How about one that you think just you know about? Set up a scene and share it with the rest of us! Who knows, maybe something special will happen there some day.
All entries for this contest are solo, but you may set up your photo with friends to create the kind of image you want. Players who assist others are also allowed to submit their own entries. The usage of alts for these photos is allowed. Avoid showing text or names in your photos, focus on visual storytelling, or evoking an emotion through the photo, whenever possible. Photos will be judged on a 5-point scale. Be sure to also include a Title and the Region your secret place is, such as in the example below:

Title: Isolated Living
Region: Nubes Mountains

You can only submit one photo, but if you make an error (such as a stray chat bubble or mob in the way that you didn't notice) and need to resubmit, you may so long as it's the same area and setup.

~The NPC Redesign Contest: Ferghus
A first for our player events, this challenge is to take an existing NPC and give them a makeover. This time, the focus is on fan favorite blacksmith, Ferghus!

Using your imagination and creative skills, your task is to come up with a brand new Ferghus, entirely up to you!

What Qualifies as a Redesign?
A redesign for this contest must fit this criteria: It must be Inspired by the current Ferghus, it must still fit within his Roles in the game, it cannot be a 1:1 fanart or existing work (you can't submit a screenshot from the youtube videos!! We'll know!!), and must be clothed in items that exist within the game.
You can change his outfit, hair, face, mannerisms, as long as we can tell it's him. You can solve his alcohol problem! You can make him an even worse blacksmith! You can put him on a body pillow! Almost anything goes! NO NUDITY

You can use the following methods to design a Ferghus:
Traditional or Digital Art, Character Creators like sig.kill (https://mabi.sigkill.kr/charsimulator/?lang=en), The Sims, Dressing up in game, MS Paint, Cosplay, Sculpture, as long as you put the effort into it, you can submit a Ferghus for judging!

Methods that are NOT allowed:
No machine learning derived images may be submitted. Graffiti is also not allowed. Using existing images is also not allowed.

8th Anniversary Screenshot Contest ~ Postcards from Mabipro!

Another year passes by for those of us here at MabiPro, and with the anniversary event upon us, that means it's also time for another player screenshot event! This time the theme is Postcards from Mabipro! Do you have a favorite area in game? Have you ever had it in your head what some buildings are or should be? Special scenic spots you want to share with others? This is the event for you! Take a photo of this area as if you're going to send it to an out of town or out of country friend and you're out on vacation (or to a friend you'd like to play mabipro with!), to let them see what they're missing!

Example:

Simply take a nice photo, staged with friends or as a natural, empty landscape, of your favorite location in game. Imagine the postcards you see while on vacation or holiday, for all the sightseeing attractions for cities and tourist spots, and emulate that. The use of image macros/editing for text on your photo is completely okay! If you'd like, feel free to add a letter attached to the back, if you're really into it. Once you finish, send your image to me before the 16th for entry, where it will be judged and given a score. The highest scores get the prizes!

Rules:
~Only 1 entry per category per person. You cannot submit 2 entries for either. If you do, we will pick the first one.
~Two or more different players cannot submit the same photo. If you work together, you have to decide who is entering the photo. All entries for this contest are Solo.
~While mods for rendering or texture changes are allowed, no Hacking or going Out of Bounds will be permitted for this event.
~No photo manipulation is allowed, though you may add text, crop your image, adjust light levels, or splice 2 images to your best ability.
~Multiclienting to get additional subjects or use an alt for the cameraman is OK.
~You may log in and play as your pets for posing and angling.
~Please use ctrl+n, ctrl+p, and hotkey "/" to hide player names, chat, and interface.

How to Submit:
Submissions will be accepted via discord through the MabiPro Players Discord. Ping or send a DM to user Darecrow, and then submit your entry through DM. When submitting, please provide your in game username, any title you'd like to give your postcard, and any additional information if (if you'd like to add a letter to it!).

Please submit them by February 16th!

Prizes:

First Place: 2 Enchant Protection Potions, 1 Adventurer's Heavy Blade, 100 Red Coins (pink)
Second Place: 2 Iridescent Herbs, 1 Slate of Treetops, 50 Red Coins (pink)
